Wedding Wednesday: Roaring Twenties

Hello, all! I'm back from my holiday in Melbourne, and I'm happy to be blogging again, especially on my favourite day of the week, Wedding Wednesday.

This week's wedding style focus is on the fabulous 1920s. The "Roaring Twenties" was a time when women tossed off their corsets, bobbed their hair, and showed a little leg -- more than a little, compared to the previous generations! Jazz was the music of the era, and cocktails were readily enjoyed, despite Prohibition in the United States. It was a time when society began to shift toward more freedom of expression, and fashion reflected this attitude, to bring dazzling new styles in dress, hair, makeup, jewelry, and accessories.

Brides of today are finding inspiration in this glamorous freedom-loving era, and we can see why, by the choice of beautiful gowns, rings, headbands, cakes, and so on. What a fun theme for a wedding! Flapper dresses for bridesmaids, speakeasy-inspired receptions, and art deco details create a delightful affair--not to mention gorgeous photos for the bride and groom!
